Work from home v/s Work from office!
Are you one of those people who thought this is temporary and life will be back to normal like nothing ever happened? It’s a wake-up call, guys. We are still under lockdown, confined and only hoping for things to get better.
Can you recall the last time you met your loved ones? Let alone the extended family members, think about your friends; friends you used to meet almost everyday after work. And especially on weekends. Do you remember there’s something known as TGIF?
We are re-learning the idea of life and guess what? It’s not the new normal we are venturing into, but the new strange. Because everything is going to be unusual — from the way we work to the way we proceed in life. And this brings us to the most happening event of our life *sarcastically* work from home.
There used to be a time when we thought nothing is more soulful than working from home. There’s peace, no one to cause any disturbance, take as many breaks as you please, and that was nice. But today, it’s weirdly hectic. Because, there’s no start and end to work. You are either chasing deadlines or washing utensils. Ask about the weekend? It exists. And that’s about it. Are we missing discipline? We don’t know. But hey! Work from home isn’t THAT bad. You have the freedom to choose the posture of your choice you feel comfortable working in. Would you ever sit in office the way you are sitting right now on your couch? Be honest. And the best thing about working from home is… you’ll never reach home late.
Working from office had its own benefits. We worked around people who’d simplify our life or rather just have our back. Moral support, you see. We reached in time, met people on our way, shared our day and left on time. Work was great, it still is. Maybe, what has changed is, the way we pursue work today all by ourselves. I think what most of us miss the most about working from office is (chai breaks, of course) how we brainstormed and the brief was not only limited to emails.
All we can do right now is enjoy these moments of working from home. Because you never know, once you are back to work, you might miss work from home.
